Garbage to Gucci.
Students are now planning and creating an outfit to wear in the presentation at this year's festival. They are to look around the house for recycled materials that can be used to create the outfit and bring these to school where time will be allocated for construction. The completed outfit is due by Thursday, June 11.
Brochures.
As part of the Murder Under the Microscope (MUM) investigation, students are making a brochure on a MUM topic; either a victim, villain or crimesite. Step one is a brochure enquiry, where the student selects a topic and asks "What are five questions that I would expect to be answered in a brochure on this topic?" They then ask the same question to three others and collect their responses.
As an aid to developing questions, you may access the MUM website (2009), go to the teacher's area, follow the Resources link and then the specific topic activity card. These cards also provide links to valuable information on the topic.
From these 20 questions, students choose their top 5. These are the questions that they will research and publish in their brochure.
Short Story Collection
In class we are writing a collection of short stories. They are being edited here and the good copies will be compiled by the students and presented as their own collection.
Hope this is of assistance.
