In Europe, a woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost him to make. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug. The sick woman's husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get together about $ 1,000 which is half of what it cost. He told the druggist that his wife was dying and asked him to sell it cheaper or let him pay later. But the druggist said: "No, I discovered the drug and I'm going to make money from it." So Heinz got desperate and broke into the man's store to steal the drug-for his wife. Should the husband have done that?

ReplyDeletei think no because heinze could always be more honest and work overtime to earn more money because if he does steal this miracle drug he could put the pharmasist in a financial state!!!
on the other hand though if the drug he was stealing was going to a good cause the judge could show leaniancy (im assuming thats how u spell the word) but i stick with my no!!!

ReplyDeleteheinze shouldn't of stole! because stealing is againts the law and has to think of the effect its going to have on the shop owner and besides how does he know that the radium will even save her...he doesn't. so worse case senario he steals the radium and gives it to his wive it doesn't work,she dies and he ends up in jail.

i think heinz should have gotten a better job that pays him more money so he could buy the medicene cause stealing is BAD BAD BAD lol c ya @ school lol

I think that Hienz shouldn't steal the drug cause stealing is wrong but then when you look at it there's a lot more to it. I also think that claire's suggestion is very good he should steal it and then leave some money behind. But their not sure if the treatment will work either so he might be wiling to go to jail even though he might never see her again. Now i come to the conclusion after i have looked over everything and i think he should steal the drug and leave some money behind. I say my first statment is wrong!

Hienz Should steal the drug because he would be stealing not because he's greedy or wants to get back at the pharmistest(I know spelling)But because he loves his wife and he would be willing to go to jail for her even if it didn't work at least he would have tried to keep her alive

i disagree with keano because even know it is againest the law, but doesn't he love her and on his wedding day he said he will do anything for her even if he has to steal to save his wife i think he should.

No i do not think that heinz should have stolen the drug even though his wife was dying. If heinz had of stolen the drug he could have been jailed which would have made it worse.
